High Bridge Foundation, Inc. is a tax-exempt, non-profit organization established by Ernest and Mencie Hairston in 2012. Dr. & Mrs. Hairston are life-long volunteers and supporters of youth development programs that promote the well-being of young people from underserved populations including new immigrants, adoptees, disabled persons, and those needing financial help to pursue higher education. Donations to the Foundation are tax-deductible to the full extent allowed by law.
Governed by a Board of Directors, our mission is to reach, connect, serve, and empower young people from underserved communities so they may achieve their full potential and become contributing members of society. We accomplish this by providing funding and services in support of youth development, health education, mental health counseling, literacy, English language skills, computer skills, tutoring, college preparation, scholarships, career development, training and job placements, arts, sports, and recreational activities.
High Bridge Foundation Scholarship Program provides monetary awards to deserving students who pursue post-secondary education.
My Mentor brings youth and adult volunteer mentors together to improve life skills, literacy, technology skills, and English language skills through the innovative use of technology.
Arts & Recreation Program promotes self-expression, confidence and self-esteem through recreational sports activities, visual arts, and performing arts.
It Works coaches young people in resume preparation and job interview skills and connects them to internship and externship opportunities.
