about us

High Bridge Foundation, Inc. is a tax-exempt, non-profit organization established by Ernest and Mencie Hairston in 2012. Dr. & Mrs. Hairston are life-long volunteers and supporters of youth development programs that promote the well-being of young people from underserved populations including new immigrants, adoptees, disabled persons, and those needing financial help to pursue higher education.

Donations to the Foundation are tax-deductible to the full extent allowed by law.

Governed by a Board of Directors, our mission is to reach, connect, serve, and empower young people from underserved communities so they may achieve their full potential and become contributing members of society. We accomplish this by providing funding and services in support of youth development, health education, mental health counseling, literacy, English language skills, computer skills, tutoring, college preparation, scholarships, career development, training and job placements, arts, sports, and recreational activities.

Scholarship opportunities

High Bridge Foundation, Inc. has provided scholarships to graduating high school seniors in the DMV area for over 10 years.
